Example projects

The Prospectory is currently running the b-bug project in partnership with Dragon Electric Vehicles.  The project was one of 4 winners at the Green Dragons’ Den Sustainable Development Challenge which ran at the 2010 Hay Festival. In Summer 2011, we ran a trial of two electric open air, road legal buggies to explore sustainable tourist travel in the Brecon Beacons. The b-bug project was selected by the Guardian Green Travel List as one of the top 25 most innovative eco-tourism projects in 2011.

In Summer 2010, we collected data on the detailed travel patterns of visitors to the Brecon Beacons. The research report is available here.

Co-designing and testing a unique 17 foot pedal powered boat ‘Winsome’ for use on canals, lakes and rivers.

Helping the Wooden Boat Builders Trade Association to explore wooden boat buying values and behaviour and the role of boat shows. Our results are reported in Water Craft Magazine, March/April 2009 and the full research report is available here.

Exploring live rugby as a consumer product for The Scarlets and Welsh Rugby Union. We analysed what different supporters value about live rugby and analysed crowd statistics and make up for different  matches.

5 years of research for a major UK art publishing company – designing and running experiments in consumer art appreciation and online retail, studying art buying behaviour, generating new product ideas and advising the company on new digital developments and opportunities. Some of our findings were featured by BBC TV and Radio 4
